body wanderer, 2023
cotton linter, indigo dye, acrylic ink, fabric ink
With the guidance and resources of the MCBA/Jerome Foundation Book Arts Mentorship Program, Suriya Sam-Khuth pieces together the languages of paper, photography, and collage to record and give shape to visions that foresee the transformation of the body. This emerging work contemplates mirrors, myths, dreams and their worlds as possible devices and gateways to look closer at one’s own desires, fears, and sense of selves.
